Sign up now for 2026 Summer Reading Program Unearth a Story

Readers of all ages are invited to participate in a DINO-mite summer at the library through July 31

Maryville Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program returns June 1 with the 2026 theme: “Unearth a Story.” This free program is open to all ages and encourages reading and engagement throughout the summer, with chances to earn prizes and attend special events through July 31.

How It Works:
Participants can sign up anytime (with a dedicated time for assistance with sign ups Saturday, May 30). Logging reading begins June 1. Readers may register in one of three ways:

Program Highlights

Grades 1–12:
Kids and teens entering grades 1–12 in fall 2026 are encouraged to read 20 minutes per day and track their progress using a log sheet available at the library. Readers earn a prize for every 10 days of reading (up to 5 prizes). All reading for the program can begin June 1 and must be logged by July 31. Prizes must be claimed by August 15. Prizes are generously sponsored by the Maryville Pride Lions.

Birth – Kindergarten:
Track how many books are read between June 1 and July 31. Prizes will be awarded for reading 25 and 50 books. Log sheets are available at the front desk with logging beginning June 1. This includes children starting kindergarten in fall 2026.

Adults (Ages 18+):
Adult cardholders—including parents—can earn a prize entry for every book read, plus a guaranteed prize for completing four books or reading to a child for 20 minutes a day over 20 days. Registration opens June 1 at the library desk.
