If a child will begin kindergarten this fall or is younger, they can start or continue the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Children earn prizes when 100, 500, and 1,000 books have been read to them.

The survey can be taken again at then end of Summer Reading Program. Prizes include a choice of shopping for a book at the Usborne Book Fair beginning Aug. 2 or two passes to the Board Game Cafe. Those who choose to take the survey will receive a coupon for a treat to a local restaurant. They will receive a second coupon when they repeat the follow-up survey at the end of the summer.

Grades 7-12 have the same choices at grades 1-6, the only difference is the prize and they are not eligible to take the survey. The prize for grades 7-12 is their choice of a book from the prize collection located in the glass case in the Young Adults (YA) section of the Maryville Public Lbrary.

The adults are the same as the teens with choices of the number of days to read and additional challenge they can choose of completing a course in our online set of classes called Udemy.
