New virtual storytime room available

Virtual toddler storytime will now be offered the first Thursday of the month in a virtual “classroom” or storytime room format. Using original videos, content from outside sources on YouTube and literature blogs, the Maryville Public Library now offers bite-size literacy learning opportunities which are in line with the attention spans and learning styles of today’s toddlers.

By clicking on the various items in the virtual storytime room, parents and children can hear books read and sing along with the library’s youth coordinator in a video shown simultaneously with the words on slides – double clicking on the video will take it to full screen mode. Parents can also send an email to request a book bundle, link to the library’s catalogue, log in to Tumblebooks, and more. By clicking on the art piece, parents can see a list of activity suggestions along with supplies needed.
